1. License and Use

BoxPlayer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, personal license to:

• Install and use BoxPlayer on your personal devices
• Use, modify, and distribute the BoxPlayer desktop open-source code under the MIT license
• Use BoxPlayer for personal media playback and home theater scenarios

2. User Responsibilities

As a BoxPlayer user, you agree to:

• Not use BoxPlayer for any illegal purpose or to infringe upon intellectual property rights
• Not reverse-engineer, crack, or circumvent BoxPlayer's security mechanisms (except the open-source desktop version)
• Take responsibility for the content in your connected media servers, cloud drives, and network shares (NFS, SMB, WebDAV, etc.)
• Comply with the terms of service of third-party services you connect to (such as Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Aliyun Drive, OneDrive, etc.)
• Provide accurate account and billing information, keep login credentials secure, and remain responsible for activity under your account
• Notify us promptly of unauthorized use, billing issues, or security incidents through the contact channel below

3. Intellectual Property

The BoxPlayer desktop version (Windows / Linux) source code is open-sourced on GitHub under the MIT license. The BoxPlayer name, icon, UI design, and mobile client code are protected by copyright. These Terms do not grant you any rights to BoxPlayer trademarks or branding.

4. AI Outputs and Input Content

Subject to these Terms, AI content generated from your inputs is yours. By submitting text, files, or other input content to BoxPlayer, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license solely to provide AI reading, translation, TTS, search, organization, and related services to you. We will not use your input content to train our AI models without your explicit consent.

BoxPlayer AI features may depend on third-party models or infrastructure. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated and should not be treated as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying outputs before relying on or publishing them.

5. AIGC and TTS Acceptable Use

BoxPlayer may provide AI reading, translation, text-to-speech (TTS), and other content generation or assisted generation features. You agree not to use these features to generate, request, upload, distribute, or assist in distributing:

• Pornographic, sexually explicit, NSFW, or sexually stimulating content
• Any sexual content involving minors, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), or sexualized depictions of minors
• Illegal, infringing, harassing, hateful, violent, fraudulent, or privacy-invasive content
• Impersonation, misleading deepfakes, or unauthorized use of another person's voice, likeness, name, creative work, or identity information
• Malware, phishing, cyberattack tools, or content that bypasses or interferes with security features
• Large-scale scraping, extraction, or collection of AI outputs to train, fine-tune, benchmark, distill, or develop competing AI or machine-learning models
• Presenting AI outputs as the work or conclusion of licensed professionals, such as doctors, lawyers, or financial advisors, in high-risk contexts

If we identify violations of this policy, we may restrict or suspend AI/TTS features, terminate accounts, remove violating content, deny refunds, and, when necessary, report the matter to law enforcement or relevant platforms.

6. Subscriptions, Cancellation, and Refunds

BoxPlayer Pro may offer monthly, yearly, or lifetime paid plans. Access to digital service features is delivered immediately after payment confirmation. If a subscription includes a 7-day free trial, it will automatically renew at the end of the trial according to the billing cycle you selected unless you cancel before the trial ends. By providing a payment method and subscribing, you expressly authorize us or our payment processor to charge that payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. For yearly subscriptions, we will try to send a renewal reminder in advance.

Unless otherwise stated at checkout, prices exclude applicable taxes; where required by law, taxes are collected at checkout. Payment card data is processed by our PCI-DSS compliant payment processor, Waffo Pancake, and is not stored on our servers. You may cancel future renewals through the payment provider's billing page, in-app entry points, or by contacting us. After cancellation, you may continue using Pro benefits until the end of the paid billing period.

Except where required by law or expressly stated by us in writing, completed subscription charges and lifetime purchases are generally non-refundable. If you believe there was a duplicate charge, technical failure, unauthorized transaction, or service unavailability that prevented normal use, contact us within 7 days of payment with your account email, order details, and a description of the issue.

We usually review complete refund requests within 5 business days. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method, and the actual posting time depends on the payment provider and card issuer. We reserve the right to deny refunds for accounts that violate these Terms or the AIGC/TTS acceptable use policy.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us through the channel below before initiating a bank dispute. We will try to resolve confirmed billing errors within 5 business days.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

BoxPlayer is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that:

• BoxPlayer will meet your specific requirements
• The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free
• Any errors will be corrected

AI-generated content may contain errors, bias, incomplete, or outdated information. Do not use it as legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice; consult a qualified professional before taking action based on AI content.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the BoxPlayer team shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the software, including but not limited to data loss, device damage, or loss of profits. Except for liability that cannot legally be limited, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Third-Party Services, Data, and Privacy

BoxPlayer supports connecting to third-party services (such as Plex, Jellyfin, Emby, Aliyun Drive, OneDrive, etc.). These services have their own terms of service and privacy policies. Please review them before use. BoxPlayer is not responsible for the content, availability, or conduct of third-party services. Your use of BoxPlayer is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to BoxPlayer if you violate these Terms. If we terminate paid services for reasons other than your breach, we will refund any prepaid unused portion where required by law or reasonable commercial judgment. You may terminate this agreement at any time by deleting the app and your account.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated at least 14 days in advance via in-app notification, website notice, or email. Continued use of BoxPlayer constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
